Need help with my 2003 S60 AWD 2.5T Oxygen Bank 1 Sensor 2 P0036 code and location. I believe from the live data i ran on my scanner my b1 s2 o2 sensor is bad since it ran a flat 0.4 voltage and did not fluctuate as it should? Where is this sensor physically located on my s60? Thank you

bank 1 refers to which side of a V engine the sensor services - I5s obviously only have a bank 1 (some I6s with split headers have 2). Sensor 1 refers to the upstream 02 sensor and sensor 2 is the sensor after the cat. Sensor 1 is the "lamba" sensor which helps control fuel trim while Sensor 2's job is to help measure oxygen after the cat which will determine the cat's efficiency. The P0036 code is suggesting the rear O2 sensor's heater circuit is not working correctly which points at needing a new sensor or the wiring powering the heater element so check to make sure the fuses are ok.

Thank you , i appreciate you. One more question....During a live test will there be a diffrence in voltage between a bad sensor vs a short in the wiring or a bad fuse?
