No oil pressure, s60r, 2006, 81,000 miles
 

We have a 06 s60r, no oil pressure, removed oil pan to inspect seals between oil pan and block, had detected air bubbles in oil on dip stick when removed, replaced all seals, cleaned pick up tube, had some debris in screen, vacuum checked plastic pick up tube for any damage, replaced all oring seals including oil filter to oil cooler, both oil cooler seals, started engine, still no oil pressure, removed oil pan a second time thinking the oil pump seals may have slipped when assembled, they were ok, replace oring seals again (to be safe), removed oil pump, clean and and inspected, no damage detected, we did notice the oil in the pump was not fresh like the clean oil in pan, re assy oil pump with new seal and gasket (primed prior), note; we dont know how long the customer drove the vehicle with low pressure, but the oil pressure warning light was not on until we had removed the oil pan, any help or insight would be appreciated, thanks angelo

I have to wonder if you really do have low oil pressure. With the pump design, you are turning directly off the crankshaft. Unless the gear inside the pump is missing, you would have to have pressure by a matter of physics.

You may have a plugged oil gallery where the sending unit is located. You can find an appropriate threaded pipe and place it in the hole, then connect a hose to the fitting and see if you do have oil flow and pressure.

A word of warning, if doing this to verify, you will need a strong enough hose to support 60 psi of pressure so fuel line would be best and use a strong clamp at the fitting or pipe.

Point the hose into a large clean container so that you can reuse the oil as needed.

We have verified there is no oil pressure at sender location with a pressure gauge installed, used compressed air blown through oil cooler ports checking for any signs of restriction, none detected, with oil pump on bench rotating pump gears by hand was producing detectable pressure, cant help but think possible restriction in oil galley and or a crack in oil pan via oil flow ???
