oil change problem

hi, i had the car at the volvo dealer today for an alignment and an oil change. i brought 6 quarts of fully synthetic, which i was using for the last 25k miles already. as usual, i told them about it and that the oil is in the trunk, as usual. after the car was done and we were about to leave i put something in the trunk and what do i see - all the oil, untouched. i asked the service guy what happened, he said he forgot to write it down and tell the mechanics about it  so now i have regular oil in it.
since we had to go to an important appointment we didn't have time to have them change it again.
so here is my question: should i leave the regular oil in there until the next change or take it out and put the fully synthetic one in?
we did about 150 miles since then.
btw, we have a 2005 s60t5 with about 77k miles on it.

thanks

fritz

Wow .. that is an easy question!

You asked him to use your oil.
He did not.
Take car back and tell him to follow original agreement/contract.
Only pay labour for one change.
Do not pay for his crappy oil which he costs him $5 and he charges you $30.

Then you will be in the same position as per your original contract (albeit having crappy oil running in your car for a few days).

thanks for the answer - and sorry about the cross-posting ( i guess i was exaggerating a little). unfortunately that dealer is about 100 miles away, so i have to see when i can make it there again - good thing i can use my cannondale to go back and forth to work :D

thanks again

i was never really satisfied with that dealer - ontario volvo in california - anyway (not just because of that oil issue). i have always been at bozzani volvo in west covina and thought them to be very good, thorough and reliable - but unfortunately they closed down a few month ago :(
can anybody recommend a good dealer in the los angeles area, preferably on the eastern side?

The regular oil won't hurt anything but I'd get it out of there fairly soon since the synthetic oil has better lubricating properties than regular oil. And I agree with the other poster..........get the dealer to change the oil AND filter again using your synthetic witihout ANY labor and oil filter charge to you. If you can't get back there soon, go to one of the 10 minute oil change places and tell them you want both the oil AND filter changed and you'll furnish the oil........but put it on the front passenger seat in all future visits for oil changes so they can see it......I use the KISS approach! I've used my local 10 minute oil change shop and provided both the synthetic oil (Mobil 1) and a Volvo oil filter and they've only charged me $20 labor. And your Volvo Dealer still owes you a free labor on the oil and filter the next time you're in that area.

Do you need to use a dealer? What about a european service shop? There has to be a few places near you or maybe a Volvo Service specialist that might be able to helo you with service and not pay the dealers super inflated prices, unless your vehicle is still under factory warranty and even then I would go somewhere else unless you need to use the warranty!
