Oil leak on front of engine on 2005 Volvo S 60 T5
 

Need some expertise. Have 2005 Volvo S 60 T5. Has an oil leak somewhere on the front of the engine around the belt area. Have replaced oil pump gaskets, Crankshaft seal, Both cam seals and both V V Ts, and still have the same leak. I have been trying to find this leak for 6 months. Can anyone help me figure out where this leak may be coming from. I sure would appreciate it.

is the leak coming from up high or down low? Did you get for PCV pressure? A clogged PCV can push oil out of a good cam seal. When you say you replaced both VVTs what exactly was done? The only other things that I can think of are the head / gasket (I'd suspect you'd have other issues if this was weepy) and the oil pan or that you have some scoring on a cam or crank that is keeping even a new seal from doing its job. Is this a full blown leak with frequent fills and driveway spotting or a weeping causing exterior engine gunk?

Looks like it is coming from up high around the exhaust V V T or cam seal. Just to bring you up to speed. I completely rebuilt the engine. Engine runs perfect with no codes showing. This leak is the only issue. You mentioned the V V Ts. Both intake and exhaust V V Ts have been replaced with new ones. The o ring seals were already installed on both. Doubled checked everything myself. New Cam seals. New V V T bolts.as well. New Timing sprockets, belts, oil pump gasket and o ring seal. Crank seal. Everything. New PVC system. Has very good vacuum on the oil dipstick and oil cap. The oil is all dripping to the same point, however the sprockets and belts slings what gets on them so as a result oil is all over the timing belt compartment so it is hard to pinpoint the source. Doesn't leak unless engine is running. pretty good size leak. I would say about one quarter pint in 20 minutes.
