Default Bulb Burnout Burn Out

I'm Done I'm Done I'm Done........

We got a 2004 S60 for my wife last summer. So Far I've replaced both low-beams, both position light (Not that the owners manual calls it the same thing, side markers, as the message center) a tail light and a Brake light (opposite sides). the Car has 122K on it and I thought with the first few burnouts that, maybe they were "due"......I don't think so....but maybe.

I've worked on my own (American made) vehicle and "almost" never had as much trouble just changing out light bulbs as I've had on the Volvo; Never mind the rate of bulb failure. It seems that I just get one bulb fixed and the next one fails. Being this is my first Volvo I don't know if I just got a light bulb lemon or if this is the MO for the S60?

I am going on 3 years and have only replaced a tail light bulb. As long as you are not replacing the same bulbs over and over it sounds like they were just due....you could check your charging system voltage just to make sure its not too high....

^^^ Agreed.
As long as you're not replacing the same bulb multiple times then I'd say it's nothing to worry about. Though it wouldn't hurt to check out the charging system.
If all the bulbs you're replacing are all original, at 8 years old and 122k, I would think that it's about time for bulbs to need to be replaced anyways...

I just replace my licence plate bulbs a couple months ago and the left one aleready burned out. I made sure the part no. was correct and even cleaned the plugs with contact cleaner and let them dry before installing. Is this a sign of a short?

Much of the time, frequent bulb failures can be attributed to poor faulty ground connections. Remember, electricity will always follow the path of least resistance.
