S60 2015 Shaky Wheel

I recently got a used Volvo S60 2015. I’ve noticed my wheel was shaking a couple months back and it got more aggressive when I braked so I took it to my mechanic and he said I needed new brakes, he replaced them and the shaking stopped. Recently, the shaking returned but shakes all the time, especially when I drive faster on the freeway. My mechanic doesn’t seem to know what’s wrong because he’s looked at it twice now and said he couldn’t find anything while the shaking gets worse. Anyone else had this issue and any suggestions on what I should tell my mechanic to look at specifically?

If your "shaking" is in the car or the steering when "faster" on the freeway - that is the tires are out of balance, out of round or you have a bent wheel.

If your shaking occurs when you brake - the brake rotors either have "hot spots", pad deposits or are warped. Warpage is unlikely but possible -usually brake pads deposits are the problems. Unfortunately those can cause hot spot that can only be solved with new rotors, Resurfacing the rotors can get rid or those "hot spots" - but sometimes they come back due to changes in the metal.

Sometimes when brake rotors are replaced to solve shaking when braking - the old nubs are not cleaned perfectly - so the newly installed rotors are not perfectly flat with the hubs. This can/will lead to premature "shaking" due to poor installation of the previous rotors.
