S60R steering issues?
Hi all, have a 2006 S60R,car was purchased used, has 150klms on it,steering is acting funny, when car is cold, steering is fine, easy to steer and handles good, drive about 5-6 klms and steering is harder to steer, car seems to be pulling to the right side, not much but it is noticible, steering just does not feel right, pretty sure car has the speed sensitive steering as it is a 'R' model,i drive the highway to my next town and when i slow down it seems to be OK,in around townbut still not as easy as it should be?,my question is it the rack that is going out or maybe the power steering pump that is starting to fail?,if it sits for an hour or so it is easier to steer but goes away on the way home,i have had a 2006 S60 2,5t befoere and it was not at all like this car?.Performance wize the t5 is a faster car on acceleration too,i have not had a R before so i dont have any thing to compare it to?,but even the acceleration from a dead stop is something to be desired,my car is a 6 speed.Any help or tips as to how to diagnose any thing would be greatly appreciated,my car has no check engine lights on?. Thanks Harvey

Wonder if it's a an issue with the steering column?? I've heard of them needing to be replaced in the R's but I don't remember what the symptoms were.
On a side note, it all depends on what year T5 you're talking about... The '04 and earlier, the R's are noticeably faster, but the '05 and newer T5's have the same engine as the R's, just detuned a little bit but they are all FWD so they're dealing with less power train loss and are just a touch lighter then the AWD R's. That said, your stock R should still take a stock T5..
