Sirius Stiletto Install
 

Anyone have thoughts as to the best way to install the sirius stilleto in an '05 S60? the reception using just the fm transmitter via the radio is lousy?

Hey, I'm not too familiar with the Stilleto, but I assume you need to mount an antenna on the roof? If so I can show you how i routed the cord for mine in my 01 S60 (should be similar enough to an 05 hopefully) if it helps

argh, sorry for the long wait. My camera's battery is dead so i'll describe my antenna wiring path.

Ok, I put the antenna right where suggested (Centered on the roof, 6 inches from the top edge of rear window)
Next, I ran the wire to the left side of the car. I ran it under the rubber molding on the top of the rear window, just lift the molding and push the wire under, it will fit with no traces. Once you get to the left side, there should be a big enough gap between the metal trim and the rear window to run a wire. For me, I couldn't find a place to push the wire to hold it still, so i used a couple of strategically placed dabs of superglue to make sure the wire doesn't peak out. Next I ran it under the opening between the tronk and rear window opening (for me its a good inch or so, just part of the car design). Now you will see the power cable for the rear lights that are on the trunk door. It will run through a seal into the trunk. I just moved the seal, ran my wire through, and put the seal back. It's such a small wire that i haven't had any problems with water leaking or anything. To get to this area of the trunk you need to lower the side interior trunk panel. Just turn the knob next to the "Headrest Release" lever and pull on the panel a little bit. Once the wire is in the trunk its pretty easy. I just ran it under the trunk upolstery (the area where the spare tire and battery are). Obviously try to keep it away from the line coming out of the battery to avoid electromagnetic interferfence. Then I got it into the cabin by running it under the driver's side rear passenger seat. From there just hide it under floor mats and stuff to get it where you want it.

If you are intalling a plug and play Sirius radio (Stilletto or any other one that can be taken out) I highly recommend you install either an FM direct adaptor which will stop any bleed thru from the regular antenna. You can also use a cassette adapter (if you have a cassette player) and run that rca chord into the Sirius Radio.
