Timing belt tensioner torque?

I did tighten my timing belt tensioner to the specified torque, that is 15lb*ft, but I just feel it's not too tight for such a bolt, do you guys feel it's enough or you had it tighten some more to be safe?

It's a 2.4 non turbo

Having done hundreds of timing belts and always torquing them to spec, I have never had a problem. If it wasn't enough, it wouldn't be the spec.

Good to know, thanks.

You get a feel for torque after awhile. Honestly rarely ever need to use my torque wrench except for head jobs. I think its called muscle memory.

know what you mean, I did use the torque wrench on this one because its torque specs are so low, by the torque 'feel' I would have put about twice more on that 12mm bolt, maybe not twice but more for sure.

Use a 1/4" drive ratchet 4 inch long or so. It would be very difficult to overtighten or strip threads. Make sure its tight.
