Torque mount question

Hi Guys, new to this forum, bouncing all over the place so please forgive the repeat posts. I just purchased an 02 S60 base model that clunks over pot holes etc. New struts, all suspension parts look good. I took a breaker bar and pried up on all of the mounts. The one at the top of the engine is split. Can this cause the type of awful clunking that I am hearing? Sounds terrible! Thanks in advance, John in NH CAPT100J@YAHOO.COM

Clunking over potholes sounds like endlinks. Top mount should still be replaced if it's cracked and will help a lot with vibrations you feel win the cabin.

I would also guess endlinks if you say the rest of the suspension is in good shape. It is a pretty simple do it yourself job. I would also look at the bushing on the control arms. When they go the car can get a little clunky. But Endlinks sound right.

check lower control arm bushings too, they're known to go bad easily.
