hello everyone,

First off I just want to say thank you for letting me join in. Thanks to the site and to everyone who may help me out. I am brand new to buying cars. I've owned 2 cars, nissan/dattsun (sorry for the type-o) and a 1978 ford thunder bird I sold for 150, haha. As much as I loved my T.bird for all the character it had and it honestly fit me really well I just couldn't keep justifiing the cost of gas and the lack of attention getting from the ladies, haha.

Really I'm not shallow, i like simple and stock. I don't want something fast but I'd like it to look good. When I first saw the S60 I was floored at how simple and sporty it was all at the same time. I found a few used S60's at my local dealer. Both were right around 50k for mileage and if I remember correctly the priceses were some where between $16K-$18K... oh, they were both 2002's.

I'm just wondering what kind of experiences people have had with this model. I drove it and it was smooth; fast enough for me and really f**king comfortable. The one thing I didn't like was the visibility when I did quick head checks to my left. Pop holes were nothing to this car and it was very quite. Someone told me they bottom out if you don't slow down enough (but most cars would wouldn't they?).

Really if anyone can give me any advise on these cars, good and bad, maintenance, gas mileage, tips for keeping it top knotch, and a fair price for a year, mileage and features for any given year of the S60, I would truely appreciate it.

Well, mine's an 05, and I havent had any real problems. I'm getting btwn 20.2 and 20.4 mpg with some highway driving. As far as tips for keeping it top knotch, make sure all the routine maintanence has been don and keep doing it.
