Turbo service

Turbo service
I called the Volvo dealership and asked them to quote me on servicing the turbocharger on my S60 2.5T 04' w/37k miles. He said the turbos did not need servicing, unless there was something wrong with it then I had to bring it in.
Is this true? Can I not just take my car in and have them check the turbine/compressor blades, wear on bearings, seals, etc?
I try to baby this car so the most maintenance I can do to it the better.
Thanks

You would only need to take the turbo out if you either had a leak somewhere back there, needed to either replace or rebuild the turbo. For the most park, keep on your Scheduled maintenance and use the best synthetic oil you can afford and change it out every 3,500-4,000 miles and you will increase the longevity of your turbo!
