My #2 spark plug fouled in my 2001 S60 T5, and upon further inspection, the threads in the hole are gone. The spark plug just sits in the hole...you can turn it by hand, it doesn't tighten.


Has anyone had any experience with Helicoil and an S60? I took it to my local shop and its likely it will be a $400 repair, at least, due to it being aluminum. They said I also run the risk of possibly needing a new cylinder head, even with the Helicoil done.


Any input is appreciated. These boards have made a sometimes frustrating experience with a high-mileage car much easier!
