Default i Bet you have never heard of this before..

so the issue I am having is with my lights. When I turn off my car ,my driver side headlight side marker and tail light stay on (actually in the rear it’s only the amber colored tail light ) . What would be a cause of this ? The rest of the Iights all turn on and off and function normally ,it’s just those three that do not turn off .i have never heard of this before ,can anyone suggest something ?

what model/year? you may have a short in the wiring, a failing headlight or ignition switch or a stuck relay that is not disengaging.

Sounds like European parking lights, found on European pruduced vehicles, but I don't believe Volvo has that option.

My Volvo is a 2005 S60 .As for the short ,faulty switch or relay etc. where should I start ? I have given it a visual inspection looking for obvious problems like loose or grounding out wires but found nothing so far. Is that really a likely cause though? I mean it seems a bit odd given which lights are staying on versus the ones that are not . Do they even share a common connection ,relay or fuse ?

Volvo Wiring Diagrams

you'd need to probe around with a volt/ohm meter. I'd look at the multi-function stalk for the directionals.. I would also call the dealer about whether there is a "feature" as suggested by LittleMushi. I vaguely recall that on some cars if you leave the directional on in the on position, it will leave those markers on (ie a "Euro" parking feature)

Thank you mt6127 the link to the wiring diagrams is most definitely going to help me sort this out.. I wish it was as easy as me having left my turn signal on but that isn’t the case . I will do some more troubleshooting and probing as soon as it isn’t raining (I live in Seattle -it could be a while....lol)
