Weird Noise Under the Compartment, fan problem?
 

I have a 2001 S60 2.4T. Recently, I heard some noise from the compartment sounds like a squeezing noise from the fan. I have the cabin filter changed but still hear the noise. I have tried to turn off A/C and fan, then it doesn't have it at all. Can anyone tell me is it the fan problem? Dusty? How can I fix it? It is really annoying.

It sounds like the fan hit on something. Any clue???

I have the same problem with my 01 S60 2.4 T

The sound goes away when I increase the speed to the second level.

Annoying at low speeds.

I learned to live with it for now.

Don't really want to think about replacing the fan right now.

Exactly!!! Is it really the fan problem? Maybe it needs some WD40? Anyone knows how to reach to the fan?

It is kind of a pain to get to. It is under the Dash on the passenger side.
