Weird surging under load
Hey guys, I have a 2001 s60 2.4T, and it surging under acceleration off and on. When you put you foot on the gas and its in park, you can't keep it at 2500 rpms, it wants to hunt up to 3000 or down to 1500 even with your foot not moving the pedal ; and does this intermittently. It's almost a feeling of having the pedal disconnected from the motor. Previously I had a p0300 code and replaced a coil pack, and bought another one just in case. Also changed plugs to NGK platinums, which seemed to help and the car is better but still doing the surging thing randomly when over 50mph mainly. If I give it gas, it doesn't happen the problem occurs under de acceleration . All coil packs and injectors seem to be ok. Any suggestions? ETM? Fuel ?
Capthook, I am having the exact problem with a S60 T5. I have a manual trans. Problem is often but not always. Clears on acceleration. Comes back when coasting in lower gears mostly. I am going to change gas filter and then clean throttle EMT as in video on Youtube. I have 124,000 miles on it. No codes. Good luck with yours
