Weird Twang Noise
I just bought my first Volvo. It's a 2017 S60 T5 Inception and I LOVE IT!! Everything is great, except ....
There's a strange twang that bothers me a bit. The car has 2,500 miles on it, so it's not old. When I first start going, either pulling out of a parking spot, or backing up, there's a twanging noise like a beefy spring releasing. I can't tell if it has to do with the steering components or maybe a brake releasing? I took it to the dealership I bought it from and they thought I was nuts. They couldn't get the car to make the noise, but told me what I was describing was "normal" due to the metal on metal contact of the braking system and how it rusts slightly over night. I call BS. Has anyone else experienced that? Am I crazy?? |
My V50 used to do it, I believe it’s doing an ABS test. My V60 CC does it too.

My V50 did it within 30 sec’s from pulling away but once done that was it until it had been parked up for a while. My V60 does it too.
