Will trans computer update help lag

Our 2015 V60

I was listening to a Youtube car guy (Scotty Kilmer) talking about a Honda. One thing he was saying was that going up a hill you may experience some lagging, nothing is wrong, it is just that the car is built for MPG and the transmission just doesn't know if it wants to up shift / down shift or stay where it is. I had a friend who had an Accord who talked about vague shifts.

I notice the same thing on our V60, sometimes it is lagging and vague. Drives me crazy. Will a trans computer update or computer adjustment help in this situation? I'm starting to wish for the Subaru's CVT back, another trans that I didn't care for. Now our 2011 Honda (non-CVT) has great shift points.

There are times on the Volvo I am giving gas but it feels like it just isn't going. Kind of like driving a manual four speed and having it in forth when you should be in third.

No but a polestar tune (if available) might.

Yeah but that $1,100 computer fee for better shift points kind of hurts.
