1999 S70 Governor?

How can i disable it if there is one and also can i get a boost controller and set my stock turbo to max pressure?

1. Your S70 should do about 135-150 stock. I think that is plenty of speed. No reason to go higher let alone your car probably couldn't handle it.

2. You can do a boost controller. However ME7 cars which your is usually don't like them and it will kick the boost pressure back down to normal. Some people have gotten them to work, but the best option is do get an ECU upgrade to boost the PSI of the turbo.

*Also you boosting around 5-7 psi stock and the most pressure your turbo can handle efficiently is 15PSI but 12PSI is a better bet because at 15PSI it starts to get iffy.

If you want to boost your pressure more then 15PSI I suggest upgrading the turbo to a 16T, 18T or 19T or something else altogether. The 18T and 19T will require some internal work to be safeguarded. The 16T will handle 15PSI all day long and can go upwards of 17-20 PSI max. These are small turbos. Currently you have a angle flanged 13g and the 16T isn't much bigger.

I have the ****tiest accleration ever. it pisses me off how it takes so long to take off to a good speed. any way to fix that? Im currently FWD not AWD since my hanger bearing went.

also it costs alot of money to upgrade my ecu doesnt it? i saw some boost controllers for about $100

um, you need to get your car up to par and running good and everything fixed before you go trying to up grade. a good ecu tune will run ya about 1k.

s70driver, i thought s70's had a governor at like 127? is that just a rumor. i have no desire to go that fast, but i am just curious.

**** volvo reliability

1. Volvo's are some of the most reliable cars on the road. Most will last you 200k+.

2. The ETM on 1999 models is a well known problem area. Also it should be under warranty from Volvo. 10 Yr. 200,000 mile warranty. They should replace it for free. If not your out $900-$1200 for that.

3. The Volvo aftermarket world isn't anywhere near the Nissan, Honda, Soobie aftermarket worlds. Upgrades are few and far between and are expensive to obtain. There are ECU upgrades out there for under $500, but they are not as researched and developed as the more expensive $700+ ones.

4. A car just doesn't land in your lap. You had to be activley looking for another car. So again I ask why did you bother asking the question? You posted on the 14th and then the 15th.
