Oil Leak help
Just found a leak today while doing some brake work.
The leak is coming from the left (drivers) side. It's where the oil pan and side of the unit where the axle shaft comes out. I hate transverse mounted engines. Sheesh. Is that the differential? I don't think it would be the transmission...would it???
Anyway, if you know the area I'm speaking of, there's a hole that looks like it's a weep hole or maybe a way to pry the oil pan away from the side. The oil is leaking from the area just above that hole. I'm thinking some kind of seal is bad.
I'm hoping like hell it's not the rear main seal.
I've pulled the plugs recently and there was oil on top of the engine. There was quite a bit of oil sitting near the areas where the spark plugs are located.
Could something be clogged and pressurizing the engine to the point of blowing seals?
I will try to include some pictures tomorrow. Any help is greatly appreciated.
