2000 S70 A/C Smells
A/c blows nice and cold but it has a musty smell to it that sticks to your clothes. I have replaced cabin air filter and that didnt help. What is the source of this must smell and how do i get rid of it?
|
Might be your heater core,do you smell antifreeze fluid.
|
You likely have a drain hole clogged. Look into that.
|
Yeah im sure the heater core is bad because when i run the heat the air smells like anti freeze. i live in south florida so im able to live w/o the heater. what if i decide not to replace the heater core?
somebody else had suggested cleaning out the drain line. where is the drain? |
drain is near the cabin air filter, as to the heater core i found this http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index...b627dbd845828e

Heater core is not a hard fix.. If that's the case you are going to want to check and replace it asap because it will/might start leaking coolant in your car..
Pull back the paganger side carper and check the floor for any wet spots, is your coolant running low? Cost to replace yourself is about 150 after everything if I remember... |
No, dont have any wet carpet or loss of coolant. I only complaints are that the A/C smells like old, musty, nasty clothes that have been left in the washing machine too long. Another complaint is that the air smells like radiator coolant when the heater is on.
I REALLY need to find the A/C drain because it seems like most people think it is clogged and making the air smell so bad. |
heater core my friend, easy to replace.
