The rear panel should only be held on by clips. I have not had one apart in like 8 years or so. But from what I remember it just pops up.

The rear speakers are like 5 or 6 inch round speakers.

There should be bolts underneath the deck that you access from the trunk, that pops out each speaker assembly, then there's a few more screws that separate the speaker from the case.

They changed that between the models?!?!?!

Oh man, disregard what I said.

Damn, that sucks. LOL. It's such a simple design in the 850 to get them out. 850s FTW.

yes i have no idea of what to do.. i looked for pop outs like you said but they dont seem to want to pop out.. i took out the whole trunk interior to try to find a way to get off the far sides of each seat that are not attached to the actual seat you know what i am talking about this way the back deck might be able to pop out it seems as if something is stopping it from coming lose. i tore apart my car just to get to two speakers and i have not even gotten to them yet i had no trouble at all with the door panels it just seems that the back deck is foreign to the car. there are two pop outs that seem to be the key but i pushed and tugged on everything and i cant seem to get it off i think im going to leave the stock speakers in the back it is more trouble then it's worth and they give off plenty of bass anyway but it just seems odd i have six pioneers and pair of volvo stock speakers.. i put 6.5s in the front along with 5.25 in the compartment they have for extra speakers. it would be of great help though if i could figure out how to take off the back deck it really bugs me

The rear panel just lifts straight up towards the roof then slides out.
