Default 99 electronic throttle module.

i am having trouble locating the electronic throttle module on my 99 s70. i think that its under the intake manifold, but i cant seem to find it. any help?

Yes it is under there. Follow the hose from the intercooler to the throttle body. It is pretty big.

no, no trouble with it. yet anyway. i was mainly looking for the vacuum tree, which i understand is beneath the etm

Can you replace with a drive by wire? Seeing as the ETM is tied into the computer network and all.

How could you easily do a drive by wire setup without modifying the software which I am sure would take Volvo to do and or some tech whiz that knows Volvo software.

Well lets put it this way anything is possible, but is it economical to do so and is it easy to do it?

I've only heard of people wanting to replace the ETM with a drive-by-wire, so I have no idea if it's able to be done or not. It could be like trying to put a turbo in a base model...it'd be far cheaper and easier to just go out and buy a different model. I doubt it, but it might be cheaper to change to drive-by-wire now instead of having to replace your ETM later.
