ABS light on after rebuild
I had my abs module removed a while ago. I bought a junkyard one hoping to get lucky, but it was bad too. Well, at least having a bad one in place let me drive with a speedo.
I just now got around to installing the remanufactured one. It was harder since I didn't have the proper tool. I bought a long E5 socket since that's all Harbor Freight had, and that extra inch almost made the job impossible. I felt joy in getting the job done, but when I started the car, the ABS light was still on! The junkyard module had the ABS and TRACS lights on, but I remembered that this original one only had the ABS light. Anyhow, it's still on. Could there be other problems causing the ABS light to come on? I'm pretty sure I installed it properly. There was just that huge plug and the 4 screws, right? I have a 2 year warranty, and I'm within that period, but before I go through the trouble of taking this one out again, I want to research other causes. |
crud, I forgot the power plug! Oh well, it's dark now. I'll hit that tomorrow.

The lights will be on when you install a reman unit. Drive the car and they will go out as soon as the ABS cycles.

after plugging in the power, all is well. whew!
