CD changer says EEEEEEEEEE!

Hi Guys,

I drive a Volvo S70 T5SE - 1998

Since yesterday, when I press the CD Changer button on my head unit, It gives a code EEEEEEE, and doesn't work. Also, the changer unit at the back does not eject the cartridge when the green button is pressed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you sure it's not a blackberry? hehe that code in BB world means you have a locked BB.

Do you have the radio code? if so maybe you could unplug/plug it out/in to see if resetting it does the trick. but make sure you have the radio code~!

you can also leave the car on NOT running but last turn before inginition, let it sit for about an hour or so, the radio should reset, then you can enter your code.

Hey,

I found the problem....the fuse blown to the unit. It's a line fuse, which you have to get at by removing the unit in the boot. Problem solved, thaks for you replies guys. yeah....a blackberry...lol:)

thanks

Glad you found the problem, I asked all over the Blackberry forums, they were no help.

I have the exact same problem and I do have my radio code. Mine is a 1999 S70 Turbo5 AWD. Where can I find the inline fuse? Do I have to remove the radio? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. This problem just happened yesterday. I had a CD in the dash radio and after turning the engine off I went ahead and pressed the eject button. It ejected the CD but remained making a whirring sound just like the one it makes when it ejects CD's.

Now when I turn the ignition ON and try to put in a CD it will not "suck" the CD in as it used to do. Everything else works fine.

The inline fuse is for the Changers only.
Try removing the radio and let it sit disconnected for a while then plug it in.
That will reset the radio and it might work from there.
