Default Dashboard switch wiring

I had my dashboard replaced, and the mechanic didn't notice that the replacement dash switches were not the same as the original car. So, I am missing the info switch and the front fog light switch. What does replacing these entail? Did the wiring harness be/w the years and makes vary?

I have a 1998 S70 T5, but I don't know what the donor dash was from. I am assuming he just used the wires and switches that were on the dashboard I got from a wrecking yard.

The wiring should be the same and the switches should also be color coded to the back of the switch.

If it's color coded, is the reinstallation as easy as taking it out of the old one and just popping it into place on the new, into the exact same slot?

Yes it should be that easy. Remove the flat plate where the switch should be and the harness should be right there.

That is exactly how it is in our S70. But... hopefully nothing was done to your trip computer. If he did something to swap out a part in that, you may have to get the trip computer re-programed. Expensive!!!

The trip computer and other info items are niceties, and so I can live without them if they came at some extra price.

Well, I'm not going to worry about that yet. I am hoping for the best!

yay, my info switch has been reinstalled and works. Unfortunately, the fog lights aren't coming on. I thought they used to work ...

I guess I'll take out the bulb and check the filament. Aside from that, what else can I check? The green led light above the switch comes on, so I know that the switch is working. I noticed on ebay there are fog light relays. Is there a relay for both sides or just one?

Should be 1 relay for the fog lights.

Check for power at the foglight with a test light.
