Long story short...someone tampered with the ABS module in this car and tired the DIY repair with disasterous results. It was one of those ebay repair guys but anyway...now the car still shows the ABS light plus the brake warning light that did not perviously. I opened up the module and the work is very sloppy. I tried to redo the soldering and it still fails to work.

So now I will buy a used module but the junkyards want to know if the car has traction control and stability control, just one of them, or neither.

The car does have the "W" button by the shifter that I have never used. I understand that is traction control; yes?

How do I tell if I have stability control?

The car is a 99 base S70.

I found modules in town starting at $50 with a 3 month warranty but still unsure which to get. The yards are lazy about matching the part number over the phone since they have to send a guy to pull the module to check it.

 

W stands for Winter mode. It starts the car out in a lower gear then D.

 

I have a traction control button on my dash. It defaults to on but if I push it, it tells me trac is off.
