HELP!! MY VOLVO WON'T START FOR SOME REASON!!??

It just wouldn't start today when i was getting my sister. It started 20 minutes proir and ran fine, then i got my sister, tried to start it and there are no sounds coming from the engine.

The battery is fine, the headlights work, but when i turn the key, nothing happens, not even a noise or an attempt to start the engine.

I didn't touch anything on it, didn't speed, and there were no previous similar problems with the car...

Anybody know what my problem could be?

Sounds like, Ignition switch, Neutral safety switch, Starter relay/solenoid. I would check those first. If headlights work, I would check the relay, NSS first my self.
Try starting in Neutral, if auto trans, just to see if anything different happens. I have heard problems with the relays in volvos go bad pretty frequently too. If you need more info let us know.

RE: HELP!! MY VOLVO WON'T START FOR SOME REASON!!??

Hey Clash, try checking fuses in engine compartment, you should have a fuse box, kinda shaped like the letter "L". Should be a starter, ignition, ECM, fuses in that box. Also there should be a starter relay in that same box as well, I hear those do go bad in Volvos. If one of the fuses is bad, replace and test starter/ignition, to see if it blows again. If it does blow again, we have to troubleshoot that problem, why it is blowing fuses. If all fuses look good, then look for the starter relay and test that too. Let us know what you find.

Cool Clash, glad you fixed the problem. You think it was the starter solenoid itself?
