Intermittent Blower Motor Issue
I've been researching and playing around for a few days now. The problem originally started with the blower stopping at a random time, restart the car and everything was fine (noticed this in a few others situations). After that the blower stopped entirely. I gained access to the blower to try and do some testing and found that when I bent the connection (the one on the moter itself) away from the center of the motor, it would turn on. When I let go, it would turn off. I found that there is sufficient power to the wire connector and there are no issues there. Since the motor is working fine when I "adjust" the connection, I had thought that perhaps there would be a fixable connection inside the motor. According to my ohmmeter, there is continuity and approx. 75 ohms through the motor. I was unable to find any connection issues with my tests. If I can salvage this motor, that would be much preferred over paying for a new one.
Any suggestions?
Any suggestions?
Now that I have the motor somewhat apart, I can see that the connection would not be an easy fix. Also it is apparent that the motor is on its way out from the smell and dust. Thanks anyways, looks like the motor will be replaced.
