Looking for diag help 00 S70 trans issues
So I've happened across a very good condition 00 S70 that has a trans issue that I need some help diagnosing.
Issue: CEL on, flashing up arrow, i believe is stuck in 3rd gear. I did have the codes read at autozone, they pulled 5 P1618 DTC in another control module P0753 Shift Solenoid A Electrical P0758 Shift Solenoid B Electrical P0748 Pressure control solenoid A electrical P0702 Transmission Control System Electrical I did try a cheapo ebay code reader it pulled 1 P1618 TCM communication Ive tried to clear it but it instantly comes back I have tried to clean the contacts in the PNP switch with no change. Im thinking this issue is a bad TCM or bad connection somewhere in the related wiring, I need someone more knowledgeable that I to point me in the right direction. BTW it is a 2000 S70 GLT ( I believe ) AWD 2.4 Turbo AT 176xxx miles Thanks in advance |
Have you removed the TCM, checked the pins on the module, and connector, and then re-installed the TCM? Sometimes if the module is not seated properly it will cause issues.

Not a trans tech, but the shift and pressure control solenoids are usually located on the valve body which can be accessed by removing the pan. Possibly there could be some damage to the wiring to the solenoids like chafing through to bare wires. It probably wouldn't hurt to drop the pan anyway to see if there`s any excess debris in there.
