Mysterious oil loss

I have had a 1999 s70 since last July with only 100 000. It is now at 122 000. It was going through oil at a terrible rate but with no
visible loss under the car. Also there has NEVER been any black smoke coming out of the muffler.
The breather box was replaced and I noticed a lot less oil loss. In 1500 miles it has taken another litre of oil.
The turbo had always looked pretty wet, but I have been avoiding replacing it for the moment.
Any of you guys have any other suggestions?
Thanks

RE: Mysterious oil loss

You were looking under the car for leaks?

Maybe it is burning it.
Maybe one of the hoses for the vent box are clogged.

You may also want to check the oil dipstick o-ring. It's located between the oil pan and the dipstick holder. It's pretty common (according to the dealer) for it to warp and go bad. The oil usually seeps out while driving. You have to look real hard if you're just idling. The shop I went to had me up on the lift pressing the gas, while the tech saw the oil seeping out. If your oil seems to be disappearing, this may be the answer.
