Attachment 1552 Blue sidelight bulbs, with neon strips inside lens, and led strips under bumper

Attachment 1553 Closer shot, looks great at night. Yet to find out the legality of these.

Attachment 1554 Red led's, activated with brake lights

Not my cup of tea. That's just me.

I think Hyper White lights would have been a better option to have gone with...

gilber33 11-08-2009 10:17 AM

They're alright. I've seen people do this and it looks really good and then not so good. I don't know if it's the lenses but they don't look evenly spaced towards the outsides, and I would have left the ones off the spoiler and gone with some fog lights. Cool project though, gotta give you props for doing it.

Thanks for comments so far

I had R8 style curved led's in the lenses before. Only lasted 4/5 months before started blowing bulbs weekly. Had to go... The n/s light has reflection on the lens (from camera flash) that corrupts the photo. Had to go with blue lowers, to match the inner lens LED strips.
Thanks for your honesty though:)

Ditto! What matters is if YOU like it since you spent the money for the car!

Night pictures look good.

Did you black out the inside of your headlights too?

rspi 11-08-2009 10:21 PM

I think they will start giving you problems later, I could be wrong. I would get some fogs or some HID's. That will add to the car.

carpcatcher 11-09-2009 03:21 AM

What problems should I expect ? ?

Can't think of what problems to expect. . . .
No blacking out done.
The blue strips inside the lenses simply stick on the inside of the glass, with clip in wiring.
Same connections for lower LED's.
Easy to install, and to remove.
Keep the comments coming.

I kinda like 'em :D I hear they blow after a while from other people as well, but I think they look really sharp.

How was it installing the headlight ones?

afstud6900 11-19-2009 10:47 AM

i had those in a previous car behind my guage cluster and i went through 5 different sets before i ripped them out completely they hate the cold and half of them go out when its cold and then there ruined.... good luck though.

:)Thanks to all 4 ur remarks.:)
The lights behind the lenses were easy to install.
1. remove headlights, then lenses.
2. install led strips on self adhesive tape.
3. install lower led strips below bumper
4. connect wires via connection blocks.
5. re-install headlights AFTER testing.
6. ENJOY.:D!>:D!>!:D

Been in for 2 weeks so far, no probs.
Stopped twice by local plods, once told legal, :D
2nd time funny buggers :mad:kept me for nearly 2 hours:eek:.
Visiting local traffic inspector this weekend for another opinion.
