Default Oh Thank you bread bag manufacturers

It is so hot, and my A/C suddenly went to no-op status this week. I put the 98 S70 on the lift and was filled with dread about doing the repair the right way. Clutch gap was .035" We quit buying bread years ago, but I still found 4 bread bag clip shims. Two of them were thin enough to work, but it takes 3. I put a nylon zip tie on the 3rd spring where I didn't have a shim. I had not tried the zip ties before. I wonder how long they will last or if they wear out. It seems to me the heat might deform that after a while.

I'd love to see a picture of your install. I tried this on my 850T and didn't see where to insert the clips on my '95s compressor so I wound up installing a rebuilt. I don't think they would deform too much as the zip ties are a pretty hard plastic.

I've read these kind of posts before but I always removed the compressor and removed the shim to correct for this issue.
