Passenger Front Door Lock
 

Today I found out that my front passenger door does not lock. I am sure it has been like this for several months. The lock pin goes down when I lock the vehicle, but if you try to open the door, it opens as if it was unlocked. The alarm is set off when this happens and all of the other doors are locked and do not open.

I had had someone come to unlock my vehicle once and they did their work from that door. I a look at the the mechanism hoping to see something obvious, which I didn't. My guess is that the locking mechanism just happened to stop working and will need to be replaced.

Any other thoughts or advice?

i got a 1998 s70. it was hit in the front passeger side a little. for some reason it doesnt open too, even when unlocked. the door wasnt hit that hard not to open. anyway when i fix this little problem hopefully i wont have anymore issues on it. honestly this is the first time i hear a front passeger door problem, except for mine

The latch assembly is very common to go bad.
