Questions about motor on my volvo
I am buying a 99 s70. Vin says it’s a 2.4 but the engine manifold doesn’t look like the ones I am seeing on google. Guy I got it from said it was rebuilt. It is a 5 speed turbo. I got on it and the car gets up pretty quick

don't trust a pic from a guy selling parts on eBay! To figure out which engine, look for a sticker on the timing belt cover that should read something like B5234T7 (aka the low pressure turbo) or B5234T3 (aka the T5 or high pressure turbo). If you don't have a sticker, there is a stamp in the block on the firewall side of the #1 cylinder (you may need to clean off to be able to read it). There will also references to the motor model on the car's build plates using the Bxxxx format. The VIN position 6/7 also carry the corresponding 2 digit code that will map to the B code. If the engine was rebuilt, its possible the intake manifold came from a different model. You can also read the part number from the ECU to determine if the computer matches the block number.

94-98 turbo would have the intake manifold like the eBay pictures.
The 99 have the correct intake manifold for a 99. |
Anybody ever done an rn swap into a pre 99?
