S70 Turn Signal / Hazard Mystery
Hi,
I am the proud owner of a 1999 S70 and we recently experienced a problem with our turn signals/hazards. The turn signals stay "solid" and do not blink when the direction signal is indicated to either side. We also noticed that when the hazard indicator is pressed, nothing happens. No blinking, no lights of any kind on the outside. I've replaced what bulbs I can think of...and I have replaced all fuses associated with these functions -- nothing seems to be working. Anyone have a solution? I would like to avoid a hefty mechnic bill if it is something simple. Thanks, Dennis |

some guy has that exact same problem, a few posts down. Still un-answerd though.

RE: S70 Turn Signal / Hazard Mystery
Could this be a solenoid problem? I've noticed some description of similar sounding problems in other volvos.
Has anyone have instructions for replacing a solenoid on a 1999 volvo S70? Thanks for replies. Dennis |
RE: S70 Turn Signal / Hazard Mystery
That happened to my wife's 98 s70 as well. I spent forever checking relays, looking for a short etc, because I didn't notice anything except the dead battery the stuck turn signal caused. When I recharged the battery and connected it, the signal was on as you describe. Ended up pulling out the hazard relay which is the hazard switch, nothing looked weird inside.. Put it all back together and it's been fine since..

RE: S70 Turn Signal / Hazard Mystery
Usually the hazard switch causes that. The hazard switch is the relay for both the turn signals and the hazards.
