Speaker specs?
Does anyone know what ohm the factory speakers are? Crutchfield says they have replacement speakers for the front and rear doors so I assume they are 4ohms. What are the specifics on the dash and rear deck speakers? Can I just replace them with standard car speakers, or is it like my brother's Maxima that uses weird Infinifty speakers that are 1ohm or something odd? Also does anyone know of a good replacement for the rear deck speakers? I don't want to bother adding a sub, but I like bass so I think I'm going to wear them out soon.
Boston Acoustic makes really nice speakers. I would look into them. I loved them when I had mine. I had my front doors dash and rear deck speakers replaced with BA's in my 1995 850 n/a.
I have a 1999 S70 awd now, and love the stock system. The rear speakers in mine are like 8 inches. That will be hard to replace.

Yes I like the stock system also, but I listen to it louder than most Volvo owners so I'm anticipating replacing the speakers at some point in time. I've seen that the F&R door speakers are regular 6.5's and the dash and rear deck speakers are 8ohm more specialized speakers, can anyone back that up?
You want speakers that will blow you away, look at a brand named Focal. They are hard to find, but the sound is something else. I had the yellow kevlar ones in my Porsche 911. They are fairly expensive though.
