Default need new tires

My 98 s70 t5 needs new shoes. Right now I have 205 55 16 s on her. Anyone have any recomendations for tires? I like something grippy and fairly quiet, but will wear forever. I started looking at Continental Conti Extreme Contacts but read about how they need replacement aprox 20,000 miles. Not good. What do you folks have?

You might as well look for a good tasting non-alcoholic beer!
I love Conti's but they are all soft.
I believe Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires would fit your criteria - I am running them on 3 different cars right now. My two Volvos seem to be a great match for them -but I put some on my son's Infiniti and they ride like rocks, differently tuned suspensions I guess as the car was very smooth with Conti's and Toyo's.

The sport tires usually are softer and wear a lot faster.

Default Conti Extreme DWS

Put 4 on our 03 C70 and have been very happy. I got wheel alignment at same time. They have 7k on them now. I will put them on our 06 S80 this year.

There is no such thing... Who really drinks bear for the taste? The stuff is gross especially when warmer than 55 degrees. Just drink soda, coke.

Soda sounds like a plan. Today's task is to replace the upper engine mount. I'm worried though. Things are going too smooth so far. Bolt came off easy, old bushing remains came right out. I'm not used to having things go so smooth.

Grippy tires are because of softer rubber. Softer rubber does not last longer than anything. Snow tires in Colorado are real soft and in one summer you will wear them off to the cord. I will be putting Goodyear Eagle GT V tires on and they are 4 seasons high grip, quiet, and 50K mile tires,

I always found Goodyear tires to wear real fast. I stopped using them years ago.

I always get my tires at Discount tires so if they wear out too fast from normal driving then I get them changed out under warranty no argument,

OK, I got my Continentals from Tire Rack and paid less than I would have at Walmart even with my discount there. They were shipped to my mechanic and he put them on three days ago and I couldn't be happier. Quiet and smooth ride and good grip. Now if they last I'll be real happy. Thanks for all the advice.

I used to have the Goodyear Triple Tread Assurances on and was very happy with the all-season performance. Once those wore out after 50k, I am now trying the Hankook Optimo H727s... They are not as great as the Goodyears, but they were also half the price. I have 195/65R15s on my 99 S70 AWD.
