Throttle Body To Tech/S70

I had posted and asked about the throttle body question on my S70 and the fact that it "has to be programmed to the specific car" as per the dealer and what you thought about it. You both concurred.

Before spending $1200, my husband just took a throttle body (65 mm nonturbo) out of a wreck in the junk yard that he works in, installed it in the car, took about a half hour. The car started right up and runs perfectly, no issues whatsoever, no more check engine light, no more ETS light!!! Maybe the computer just realized it was indeed a proper throttle body and said "okay" let's go with it. Hopefully, the issued is solved (I'm praying hard). BTW - the software upgrade was done under warranty three years ago.

Thanks for your input.

I think you got really lucky!!! Fingers crossed it stays that way for you!

Good luck on that throttle body... but hold on to the old one! If you ever have trouble again, there's a company called xMODEx that will repair your throttle body with a non- contact sensor that isn't prone to the wear issue that causes the problem. They charge about $550 for the service, and it has a lifetime warranty.
