Trouble codes help!!!!

Hello Tech. Hifamily. I have an issue that maybe you guys can help me with. I have a 99 s70 nonturbo, 170000 miles (yes and counting). Ok, a couple weeks ago, engine check light cmae on, the cars idling a little rough, acceleration has been decreased noticably. So I went to have the codes at autozone; codes:-P1021 and P0420. Something to do with O2 sensor and/or catalytic conveter. The car is drivable right now. How long can I drive without causing anymore damage before I can get it fixed considering $$$?Any helpful suggestion on where to get parts and or step by stepDIYwill be appreciated. Thank you all. I await your responses.

Just my opinion of course, but I probably wouldn't drive the car unless its necessary, may cause more damage.

P1021 I think has to do with a throttle body malfunction. I would start by looking for vaccum leaks

I would have Volvo or someone with the Volvo setup pull the codes. There is a big difference between p codes and Volvo codes. Also the Volvo setup might pull more codes than the aftermarket setup.
If it is throttle body codes it might be FREE to have it fixed.

Thank you all for your posts. Well, I have to drivethe car, its the only way I can get around and that's why I want to have this issue fixed before I really start to see these $$$ flashing. Had the fuel system cleaned at express oil chnage today. They managed to turn off the engine check light even though the idling is still up and down when the engine is running while not accelerating. Express service guy suggested I have the dealer look at it thoroughly.
~Tech, any reason why it would be "free" for the throttle body. And while am thinking about it, is that related to the ETS? I've heard about the recalls and all but not sure about any of it. Please, fill me in...thanx!

The ETS light is for the throttle body codes.
The throttle body is warrantied for 10 years 200,000 miles.
If the vent system is all clear and the throttle body is clean they should warranty it and replace it free of charge.
