Turn Signal.. Any Ideas???

I have a 1998 volvo s70 base model..
My turn signals arent working. The left signal blinks sometimes and the right not at all.. However my hazard lights do work.. Any ideas on wht this could be?.. I should note I tried replacing the signal switch.. Which now the the signals wont wrk at either side but hazard still work..

Were they working properly before you replaced the signal switch? If so, the replacement switch is bad, or you messed up some wire connections when you replaced the switch.

No.. Signal never worked properly since they first day i got the car.. Only got worse as time went on.. I figure is was the signal switch bc my hazard works.. But when i swapped out the old from to new.. They didnt work at all.. So i took out the new and put the old bck in.. Part was bought from fpc euro.

Check the wires and connectors where the switch connects for loose wires or connector pins. Check all the turn signal bulbs (front and rear) as well. Wrong bulbs or a wrong flasher relay will make the signals act wonky. Basically the signals work like this. Power comes from the battery, goes thru the signal switch, to the flasher relay to the bulb (left or right depending on signal switch position).

Hope that gets you started in the right direction. Someone might have the wiring diagram for it or you could try to look it up on the Internet.

Good Luck.

volvowiringdiagrams.com is a good resource for these kinds of problems.
