V70 P0102 problem
 

I have a problem with my 1998 V70 (non-turbo) that I need help with. I’ve been chasing a problem for about a year now that causes the car to stall at idle randomly and/or skip during acceleration (especially over 3000 rpm). This past summer when the car was hot it would skip at nominal speeds and stalled at idle. The Check Engine light came on and the code was P0102 (MAF). I changed the MAF with a low cost rebuilt MAF sensor, reset the light and the problem went away for about 3 months. Now the Check Engine light is coming on, the car is skipping at accelerating speeds only, but NOT stalling. The code is P0102 again (MAF). I have changed the plugs, dist. cap and rotor to find no improvement. I am having a hard time believing it’s the MAF again. Is there another control sensor or computer board that will give the same P0102 error code? What else do I need to look at to solve this problem?

I would start there.

Yup...everyone seems to be telling me that too. Even the guy at AutoZone said don't buy their rebuilt MAF because they all brake in a few months. I ordered a new Bosch exact P/N unit on line and should be seeing it tomorrow
