Value of a 2001 s80 T6 with blown engine?
Hi. I'm new to this forum, so sorry if this post violates some rules or norms not in the stickies.
My old friend overheated due to a broken coolant hose and the mechanic says there is no engine pressure. He says it needs to be replaced, but it isn't worth it to pay the shop to do it given the age of the car.
If I were home, replacing the engine myself might be a "fun learning experience", but I am only here (Massachusetts) for a few more weeks and lack the space/time.
So what is it worth? Other than the engine, it's in pretty good condition.

I am also from Mass.
Search for Volvo S80 on Craigs list in Mass, NH and RI.
Very often these are listed there because blown engines are a common occurance, typically due to timing belt failure. Have seen people "asking" in the $1000-$2000 range depending upon the mileage, condition of car etc.
I believe body parts interchange on 1999 through 2004.
Good luck
