'07 Volvo S80 Vehicle Message

I have a 2007 Volvo S80 with about 2600 miles on it. On the display in the tachometer window, it says that I have 1 vehicle message, and the I light in the middle turns on. I click the read button, and I get:

"Book time maintenance." with a picture of a wrench on top.

What does this mean? The car is brand new, and is working fine. The oil level is good, etc.

Also, how do I remove the message? I tried holding the reset button while on the book maintenance screen, but nothing happens.

That is the service reminder light.
Means oil change time normally.
The light works by time and or milage.
Your car might be due time wise.
I know it is new but might have sat for sometime.

Well, the car has never sat doing nothing for more than a week one time. Otherwise, the car is driven weekly.

I haven't changed the oil since November (When the car was bought). Volvo wants me to change the oil every 6 mo or so? And its only 2600 miles, far from the 7500 Volvo reccomends.

If I change the oil myself, how do I reset the message? All the messages I saw online were for cars with key ignition. I have pushbutton. So how would I reset it?

That is a major pain in the A**.
If you had the oil changed when you bought it stop by the Dealer and have them reset it.

It usually takes me about 50 tries to get it reset.

Please help!:'07 Volvo S80 "book time for maintenance"

:(I just had my oil changed but they didn't reset the message!
I called the dealer. They said to push on the start button without pushing on the brake while holding down the trip reset button.
I tried that several times and it doesn't work.
My dealer is downtown. I don't have time to get down there this week.
Please help!:(

EDIT: Just realized this is an old post that was just bumped.

Every 6 months or every 7,500 miles is the general recommended maintenance schedule, so yes, your time between service is up.
