2000 S 80 transmission starting to slip should I change fluid?

2000 S 8o 2.9 auto transmission. Starting to slip has 160,000 miles. Should I change fluid? If so what type and how much? Some people recommend flushing some people just drain the pan and do three of four quarts a time. Thanks

Was thinking Mobil ATF 3309 Transmission Fluid - 4 Quart kit .

'Drain and fill' is the safest and probably the easiest start point in solving the issue.
Many posts exist on forums that advise not to do a flush at all.
What is the color of the ATF on the dipstick and is the fluid level correct?

Do you have a 4 speed transmission? AW50-42LE.
JWS 3309 is not suitable for some 4 speeds but is correct for 5 speeds.
See the link above and also check your manual for recommended ATF type.
i.e. Dex III ?

The fluid is reddish /brownish

paper Towel looks reddish brownish, fluid level is A little over recommended hot level, probably A half a quart over.
Transmission type is four speed. FWD. AW5.

I FOUND ATF TYPE TLS ON THE FCP SITE , BY IDEMITSU SAYS IT IS A DIRECT OEM FOR TYPE Volvo gearbox oil 1161540, which is the Volvo part number recommended. seems to be a reasonable price.
