2000 S80 70K mi - question about a door-knob shaped part that fell off in driveway!
Hello,
I have no idea how to get help or advice with this question on the weekend! I have had a used (2000) Volvo S80 (2.9L) for about 15 months. It has only 70K miles on it. I don't think it was garaged during its lifetime, and due to that (I guess?), and just to its age, maybe, a lot of extraneous pieces seem to be falling off all the time -- both interior and exterior. The problem right now, which feels somewhat urgent to me, because I want to take the car on a 450 mi round-trip tomorrow, is a hard rubber "door-knob-shaped" part that was found in the driveway this morning. I am afraid it came from underneath the car and that it is probably not safe to drive the car without putting it back on first! I don't know what this part is called or where exactly it needs to go. I am hoping to find out and to be able to put it back in on my own or with some help from a friend so that I can drive the car this weekend. Can anyone help??? This is what is imprinted on the part: top line: VOLVO 9157115 bottom line: Germany 6556-17 > PUR Many thanks in advance, Lisa |
It's safe. Its just a bump rubber for the rear suspension. You should have one on each side. I don't have a picture to help but you should be able to figure it out when you see the one on the other side
