2000 s80
Hi. I am new to this.. I just bought a 2000 S80. I found out the Vehicle Speed Sensor was bad so I had it replaced. Three days later it is doing the same thing. What would cause the problem to happen again? It was running fine. Any suggestions would help. Thank you.

Hi
I think a little more information may help. Like what exactly happens, when does it happen. Is there a check engine light on? any fault codes? Sensors can be tricky to diagnose. |

Thank you for your reply. There are no codes that come up. If I start the car it is ok but once I step on the gas it will sputter, make popping sounds, and sounds like a slight backfire. If I try to drive it, it acts like it will die if I am almost stopped and it won't go more than 20 mph. It was doing this before when it did read the code that the vehicle transmission speed sensor was showing. I replaced that part and it ran fine for a few days. Now it is doing the same thing but shows no codes.

The car has multiple lights on like "brake failure" and service engine. I am trying to get it back in shape. I didn't know of these problems when I got it, but I didn't buy it for a lot and the body is in good shape. The car sat for a couple years. The person I bought it from put seafoam in the tank. I replaced the fuel filter and the vehicle transmission speed sensor. I had a code reader plugged into it before I replaced that sensor and it showed the code to replace it. After the sensor was replaced, the car ran fine for 3 days then started to do the exact same thing. I had a code reader plugged into it again and it shows nothing. I have no idea where to begin now. :-(
