2000 S80-T6 low oil pressure msg when braking
 

I have a 2000 S80 T-6 and when I apply the break or when I'm going around a semi-sharp turn (at about 35 mph or less) the low oil pressure message and icon come on and go off. I've noticed that this only happens when the car's RPMs drop. If the car is at a idle the messages generally do not appear. Also, the check engine light is illuminated and the read-out displays "emission system service". I asked my mechanic to change both O2 sensors but he said that the codes only mentioned misfire at cylinder #6. So, I had the sparkplugs and air filter changed, they were fouled and dirty so it was about time (this was last weekend). I know that the car uses a distributer-less ignition and those modules are very expensive to replace; especially since I think that you are supposed to do all at one time. I read one of the posts that said this symptom could be from a leaking turbo seal/gasket. If that is also the case, how do you change that? I noticed a stutter when I have the vehicle opened up at full throttle and the turbo kicks in. It sometimes feel as though the turbo is having some trouble keeping the volume of air flowing at a constant rate causing the engine to sound (slightly, if you were not paying attention you would not notice) as though it is losing pressure then building it up again. Almost like how the rev limiter makes the engine sound when you try to over rev the engine (but not as pronounced). I am driving several hundred miles to Camp LeJeune, NC in 5 days. I am pretty handy with a set of mechanic's tools, what can I do to fix these problems before I start this road trip?

As you can see, I try to give as much detail as possible. I hope that this is not too wordy.

When left idling does the idle drop lower that normal?
You might want to try to clean the throttle body and see if it continues to happen.
Where exactly is your oil level?
If you continue to have a problem with the cylinder 6 replace the coil.Those coils are known to crack and cause missfiring.That might be your problem you are complaining about while driving.

When left idling it does drop slightly for a second and then it recovers. On one occasion the car actually cut-off in stop and go traffic on the highway (pre tune-up). The oil level is fine, I just had the oil changed 300 miles ago - used synthetic. Thanks for the quick response

Then try cleaning the throttle body good.That should make a difference.

Any tips on the best way to clean the Throttle Body... cleaners, methods, etc?

Make sure you have sometime and some beers if you are a drinker.
It will take you a little while.
It will make it easier to get to the throttle body if you remove the cooling fan.
The throttle body is under the intake.You will need to remove it all the way to clean it good.
You will also have to remove the starter support bracket from the back of the starter to get the wiring out.
You will need a 7mm socket,ratched and a short extension to get to the clamp on the throttle body to remove the hose.The remove it from the intercooler unplung the 2 valves in the pipe and remove the pipe.
then loosen the 4 10mm screw holding the throttle body to the intake and remove it.
Make sure you get a new gasket before pulling it apart.
To remove the cooling fan remove the 2 10mm screws holding it in and unplug the plugs and then try to undo the clips holding the wires to the fan from the back or cut the wire ties and replace with new.
