2000 Volvo s80 ticking inside the engine?

I bought my s80 at 82,000 miles for 5975$ my first question is did i get totally ripped off?

Secondly i had my oil changed 700 miles ago when i started noticing the ticking. I bought it to a local mechanic that I had brought my s60 to for years. and said the i should just pour some STP into my oil. It sounds like it's coming from inside my block when the car is running, it wasn't loud until i opened the hood and could defiantly notice the noise. Was wondering what this could be and any suggestions

Thanks for your time
Seb.

Hi Seb, what type of oil filter is on the car?

Hi Seb, what type of oil filter is on the car?

As for the value, that's water over the bridge. I recently sold a '97 960 for $4,500. I think the lady got a deal. I guess the question is, could you have gotten a better car for that money?

I believe that it's an STP..

and i really knew I wanted a volvo for a smooth ride i guess i'm wondering if it's really worth what i pay in premiem gas for the twin turbo in the t6 or if the general costs for say a s60 turbo would be?

I would replace the oil filter with a Volvo or Mann ASAP.
