2001 S80 Pulls To The Right During Acceleration, ??
 

I have a Volvo S80 2001, 2.9 L Base model.

The problem that I am having is that when I accelerate, the car pulls to the right - very much, actually. However, when I let go of the gas pedal, it straightens out right away and drives normally. If I apply the brakes, the car also slows down normally without pulling it to the side. I had the car checked by the mechanic - a wheel alignment was performed, which indicated that there was nothing wrong with the caster and camber, however, the toe had to be slightly adjusted. After being adjusted and aligned perfectly, the car still pulls to right during acceleration. The tire pressure is the same on both front wheels and the tires themselves are identical. The brakes are fine and the calipers are not frozen. CAN ANYBODY HELP IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM? COULD IT BE AN AXLE, BEARING, ETC...?

It does seem that I have a bad front wheel bearing, just not sure which one yet.

If your steering wheel was ever removed and not put exactly in the center again you may think its straight when in fact it is not.

I suspect that when you say it pulls very much under acceleration that you're hitting it fairly hard. These cars are front wheel drive & front wheel drive under acceleration = torque steer. There's likely nothing 'wrong' with it. You just need to be aware of it and be ready for it when you punch the long, skinny pedal on the right.

I agree with Muskoka, if you hit the gas hard then it's going to pull. If it pulls hard or constantly then it could be alignment or suspension problems. Tech would be able to answer this more definitavely.

The T-6 is Known for Pretty hard Torque Steer.

One of the Biggest things I hate about Front Wheel drive cars.

Just about every front wheel drive out there has Torque steer.
